Managing Conflict in Health Care Settings 2018 Here are the details you’ve been asking for!

February 7, 2018 (Launch Day - attend in person in Toronto or via webcast) + Twice monthly teaching sessions, resources & online community through December 31, 2018

Are you increasingly spending time, resources and energy on difficult situations involving just a few patients, residents and clients (or their families or substitute decision-makers)?

Are your staff feeling unsupported and the effects of burnout?

What laws apply, and better yet, what strategies will help you identify and respond in a graceful and timely manner as these issues escalate?

Join us on February 7, 2018 for Managing Conflict in Health Care Settings program where we will review the laws that apply to health care organizations and practitioners who must respond to abusive and aggressive behaviour by patients, clients, residents, substitute decision-makers and visitors. We will deal with other tough situations as well.

Mary Jane Dykeman & Kathy O'Brien, Principals at Cove Academy and DDO Health Law Partners, invite you to join this community of practice. They will explore the law and focus on solutions that will save you time and money. Other leaders and experts will join on launch day or on any of our twice monthly webcasts through December 2018.

This includes legal counsel to health care practitioner and organizations, law enforcement, and those involved in protection of at-risk individuals.

This is a landmark opportunity, bringing together all parts of the health sector – whether hospital, long-term care, family health team, community health centre, mental health and addiction agency, retirement homes, supportive housing, private practice or elsewhere. It has been designed to give you clarity about your legal obligations and potential responses.

Who should attend? Health practitioners, senior leadership, risk managers, public affairs & communications, client relations, lawyers working in health care settings, health system planners, insurers, LHINs, health care associations, thought leaders, and those who advise them.
